Bias

The German carry the stigma of Nazism to this day. The Japanese will never be forgotten for their attack on Pearl Harbor . The English will always be known for pillaging Africa . The same will be said of Spain and Portugal for their occupation of Latin America and other parts.

But it would be unfair to expect that all Germans of today are cruel, or that all Japanese are sneaky, or that all English, Spanish and Portuguese are greedy… that would be unseemly stereotyping and unfair prejudice.

My Mom is German.. born in 1939 (actually she was born in slovakia but they were kicked out for being German and was raised in Germany). I visited Germany and Slovakia with her in 2002. I was stunned by the Germans still being subject to the stigma of Nazism, as you say. I don't think of German's as Nazis. The Nazis were Nazis.

So you are correct. And it's sad. The Germans are great and have a wonderful culture. I hope someday they will loose that stigma.
