Food Security in the Philippines

We all know that prices of crude oil had been going up in the world market. The prices of wheat are soaring that our hot pan de sal is either expensive or shrinking. As global supplies tighten, rice has become so expensive. The rice production can¢t keep up with the demand. Agriculture before contributes much to economy but because of the conversion of this land for other purposes and with poor irrigation and little marketing support, the country became an importer rather than an exporter. Global rice crisis reminds us about state of our food security.
